BECOMING A MEMBER
Membership is open to anyone interested in photography and joining the Dallas Camera Club is easy. Simply open our online PDF form, fill it out, and press the "Email Form" button. This will launch your email application and attach the form to your email. All you have to do now is just bring your check to the next meeting. Applications are also available at the meetings if you prefer to fill it out there. The membership chairperson will be happy to answer any questions that you might have about the club. Be sure to speak with Teena Armes when you get to the meeting.
MEMBERSHIP
The clubs fiscal year is April 1 through March 31. Club dues must be paid before you can compete.
- Individual membership is $50 per year.
- Full-time students may join for $35.
- After October 1, dues are half-price ($25.00).
- Out-of-state non-competing members may join for the student rate.
Guests of members may attend club meetings, field trips and other functions but will not be able to enter images in competitions or field trip slide shows. If a spouse occasionally attends meetings and functions, and does not compete, they need not join the club, and of course, are always welcome.
MEETINGS
The DCC meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month at the Congregation Shearith Israel. Guests are always welcome. Programs are announced in the newsletter and here on the website.
Meetings start promptly at 7:30 and usually run to at least 9:30.
Competitions are held 10 months out of each year with images being submitted at the first meeting of the month starting in May and ending with February. The results of the judging are presented at the first Tuesday meeting of the month following submission. During the meeting, an outside judge comments on the previous month’s entries.
The fourth Tuesday meeting is dedicated to special programs featuring outside speakers, or club members, presenting on a wide range of photography related topics.
Training classes on topics of general interest are often held prior to most meetings. They are announced at the meetings and in the newsletter and usually start at 6:30 PM.
