Call for Images
Parkland Hospital has provided a grant to install photographic art in their Oncology Infusion Bays. The Parkland Art Committee is committed to identifying local artists that can provide uplifting, colorful, nature images for this project. Research has documented that calming, positive images improve treatment outcomes.
The photographer will receive an honorarium of $200 for each of their images that are installed. But even more rewarding will be contributing to the lives of patients and the ability to have your art installed.
The Dallas Camera Club has been chosen to provide images for this project. We are on a short fuse as their objective is to select images, prepare high resolution files to print and hang by this coming September. We will start by asking photographers to submit jpeg image files for the Oncology Selection Committee composed of patients and their family on their quarterly meeting on June 7th. They will choose the images for final consideration.
Submission Procedures
Each photographer may submit up to 5 images. All images must be emailed prior to June 5th following these procedures.
· The images must be sRGB color jpeg’s no larger than 1920px wide and 1280px high.
· The images shall be sized to have an aspect ratio of 5:3 (horizontal) or 5:4 (horizontal or vertical).
· Do not add watermark signatures for this initial submittal.
· The image filename shall be YourName-ImageTitle.jpeg.
· The images shall be emailed to f-richards@sbcglobal.net. Please include preferred contact email and phone number (indicate if cannot receive text messages) in the body of the email.
What’s Next
After the Oncology Selection Committee has chosen images for final consideration, each photographer will provide a high resolution file of each selected image. The digital image requirements, submittal instructions and due date will be provided when images have been selected.
