The first turn-in for prints for the 2021-2022 contest year is Sunday May 9th, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  There is a list of turn-in locations below.

As in past years you must submit your prints on the DCC website as well as turning in the actual prints. This is important. The judge enters scores and comments on the DCC website after examining the actual prints.

In a change from past years, the photographer’s name must *NOT*appear on the print label. The photographer’s UserID from the DCC website should be used in place of their name.

Here are the print turn-in places:

Congregation Shearith Israel, north parking lot. 9401 Douglas Avenue Dallas, TX 75225, Phil Wirth (214-232-3014) and Barbara Briley will be there from 3 to 6. Please note that the building will not be open.

FAQ:

1. What is a UserID? It is a unique number assigned to each member by the DCC website software. How can I find my UserID? Easy, just log onto the DCC website ( Dallas Camera Club), click on “My Account” and then on click on “My Account Settings”.

A better option is just to click the “Print Labels for Print Submissions” button when you submit your print image. Your UserID will filled in on that label automatically. Please be sure the “Display Author Name” box is not checked.

One of the things that has always made the Dallas Camera Club special is monthly print competitions.  Sadly, these have been on hold, along with in-person meetings, during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Congregation Shearith Israel we are within months of being able to have in-person meetings again. In preparation for this reopening, we are going to restart our monthly print competitions.

Here is how Dallas Camera Club 2021 print competitions will work until in-person meetings resume:

Prints will be turned in on Sunday afternoons from 3 to 6 PM on the Sunday before the previous month’s competition meeting. The first turn-in date will be Sunday, May 9, 2021.

There will be several turn-in spots around the Dallas area, mostly at member’s homes. Members will receive a list of all drop-off locations by email before the turn-in date. One of the turn-in locations will be the north parking lot at Congregation Shrearith Israel. If someone cannot make it to the drop off during the specified time, they can make arrangements with Larry Petterborg to deliver their prints to his house beforehand.

Prints will be returned to photographers after the judging at the Congregation Shearith Israel turn-in location the month after they are judged –or- will be returned to the members at the next in-person meeting.

The hope is, of course, that in-person meetings will resume as soon and this is a temporary workaround to help get the competition year rolling.
